Tierra Sessions Vol. 2 features J-Ro, aka Jessica Romero.

About the mix:

This mix ended up describing me better than I thought. When people ask me what kind of music I listen to, I simply say, “Music that makes me dance, music that makes me think, and music that makes me sing really loud!” Needless to say, there are songs from every genre of music that accomplish those three things. I am in love with music. Not one specific genre, artist, or song, just music itself.

My close friends often make fun of me because I always seem to be humming a different tune. The majority of the time, I’m not humming a particular song. I just have random beats and notes flowing through my head. I found this quote by Albert Einstein, ”If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music.”

I’m not a genius, but Einstein and I definitely have the same idea!

Songs are like clips of memories to me. From alternative, to hip hop, to country, to rock, each of these songs reminds me of a particular time in my life.

The power of music never ceases to amaze me. Enjoy!

Special thanks to Nic Sanchez & Jared Taylor for hooking me up with some awesome music advice and inspirations.

The three “M”s of a starting a good work week.  Perfect Planning Prevents Poor Performance!  Booking studio time this week and keeping the studio running smooth.  That’s the name of the game.  Must get the piano tuned for upcoming sessions.  Got fiddle sessions this week for Mr. Bryan Harkness!!!  Project is coming along!!!  In a little VMA aside, I’d also like to thank Kanye West for renewing my distaste for him.  Why is it that someone can be such a talented producer, yet be such a dishonorable person?  Come on, Kanye, act right!

Country singer-songwriter Bryan Harkness, who Tierra Music signed in May, is spending a lot of time at Tierra Studios this month recording 13 songs for his upcoming album. The record will come out in January 2010, but people will get a chance to hear his single “We Don’t Have to Walk Alone” long before that. Stay tuned for more.
